Podcast: From Geelong to building global things — and now coaching with “life load”
In this conversation with Mark and Bill, we start by initially covering growing up in Geelong, Victoria, Australia — attending Manifold Heights Primary School, Herne Hill/Geelong West, and attending Western Heights Secondary College.
From there, we move into the work I’ve built over the years: creating and running initiatives designed to bring ambitious people together and turn ideas into real projects — including Pivot Summit (2015–2019).
(One Pivot event Mark references is the year I brought Steve Wozniak, Co-founder of Apple to Geelong.)
We also touch on taking that work beyond Geelong — evolving into broader regional programs across Victoria and even cross-border, focused on building capability in business, digital technology, and entrepreneurship.
From there, the conversation lands where I spend most of my time now: Endurance Sport Coaching and Sport Science, and how to help athletes improve while still respecting their non-sporting life.
